El Capitan Gauchos (Merced, CA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Buhach Colony Thunder (Atwater, CA), 58-13 in a league bout.

With the win, El Capitan upgrades its record to 17-0 on the season. The Gauchos host Golden Valley (Merced, CA) to play the Cougars in a bout on Monday, January 9. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 0-3. Golden Valley lost 41-8 in their recent league bout against Atwater (Atwater, CA)

Next up, the Thunder play the Merced Bears (Merced, CA) in a bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Buhach Colony will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record.
