New Mexico High School Basketball - Newcomb crushes Shiprock
January 5, 2023: Newcomb, NM 87455 Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Shiprock Chieftains (Shiprock, NM), 58-37 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Newcomb upgrades its record to 6-0 on the season. The Skyhawks travel to Navajo Pine (Navajo, NM) to clash with the Warriors in a non-league bout on Monday, January 9. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 0-7. Navajo Pine lost 52-19 in their recent non-league bout against Escalante (Tierra Amarilla, NM)
Next up, the Chieftains clash with the Monument Valley Cougars (Monument Valley, UT) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 12. Shiprock will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 53-40 non-league loss to Escalante (Escalante, UT).
