Amherst Bulldogs (Amherst, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Kress Kangaroos (Kress, TX), 43-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Amherst upgrades its record to 4-7 on the season. The Bulldogs host Anton (Anton, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 1A Region I District 7 bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 4-7. Anton lost 82-43 in their recent league bout against Whitharral (Whitharral, TX)

Next up, the Kangaroos play the Lazbuddie Longhorns (Lazbuddie, TX) in a 1A Region I District 4 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Kress will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record.
