The Bear Grass Charter Bears basketball team scored 49 points and restricted the visiting Northside - Pinetown Panthers to 47 in the Bears non-league victory on Friday.

The Bears now sport a 7-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bethel Christian Academy for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 9. Bear Grass Charter will battle a Trojans team coming off a 78-31 league loss to Living Water Christian (Jacksonville, NC). The Trojans record now stands at 3-9.

The Panthers (11-4) will now prepare for their contest against East Carteret (Beaufort, NC). The Mariners come into the 1A/2A Coastal Plains contest with a 6-7 record. In their last contest, East Carteret edged West Craven (Vanceboro, NC), 71-55, in a non-league contest.
