January 5, 2024: Carrier Mills, IL 62917 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Gallatin County Hawks (Junction, IL) and the host Carrier Mills-Stonefort Wildcats (Carrier Mills, IL), saw Gallatin County's basketball squad wallop Carrier Mills-Stonefort by a tally of 60-36.
With the victory, Gallatin County improves its record to 5-12 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Pope County (Golconda, IL) to confront the Pirates in a Greater Egyptian challenge on Saturday, January 6. The Pirates come into the challenge with a record of 6-8. Pope County lost 65-51 in their recent non-league challenge against Harrisburg (Harrisburg, IL)
Next up, the Wildcats confront the Crab Orchard Trojans (Marion, IL) in a Greater Egyptian challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Carrier Mills-Stonefort will attempt to improve on its 2-12 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 8-4 record after their 78-72 league loss to Norris City-Omaha-Enfield (Norris City, IL).
