January 5, 2024: Newberry, SC 29108 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Newberry Bulldogs (Newberry, SC) and the visiting Fairfield Central Griffins (Winnsboro, SC), saw Newberry's basketball squad overcome Fairfield Central by a tally of 61-43.
With the victory, Newberry improves its record to 7-9 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Ninety Six (Ninety Six, SC) to confront the Wildcats in a AA Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 3-8. Ninety Six won 75-12 in their recent non-league challenge against Thornwell (Clinton, SC)
Next up, the Griffins confront the South Aiken Thoroughbreds (Aiken, SC) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 8. Fairfield Central will attempt to better on its 3-11 season record. The Thoroughbreds come into the contest with a 2-15 record after their 77-38 league loss to North Augusta (North Augusta, SC).
