Gothenburg Swedes (Gothenburg, NE) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting McCook Bison (McCook, NE), 45-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Gothenburg upgrades its record to 8-2 on the season. The Swedes travel to Centura (Cairo, NE) to play the Centurions in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 6. The Centurions go into the bout with a record of 0-10. Centura lost 51-41 in their recent non-league bout against Sutton (Sutton, NE)

Next up, the Bison play the Sidney Red Raiders (Sidney, NE) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 6. McCook will attempt to upgrade on its 7-4 season record. The Red Raiders go into the bout with a 10-0 record after their 43-35 non-league win over Chase County (Imperial, NE).
