North Carolina High School Basketball - South Caldwell nudges McDowell
January 5, 2024: Marion, NC 28752 In Friday's non-league outing, the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) basketball squad edged the host McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), by a margin of 78-75.
The Spartans (9-5) will now prepare for their outing against Watauga (Boone, NC). The Pioneers go into the 3A/4A Northwestern outing with a 10-3 record. In their last outing, Watauga held off North Wilkes (Hays, NC), 56-43, in a non-league outing.
The Titans now own a 10-2 record. They play next when they host North Buncombe for a 3A/4A Mountain outing on Tuesday, January 9. McDowell will clash with a Black Hawks squad coming off a 68-53 league loss to T.C. Roberson (Asheville, NC). The Black Hawks record now stands at 8-6.
