Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Thatcher Eagles (Thatcher, AZ) and the visiting Willcox Cowboys (Willcox, AZ), saw Thatcher's basketball squad wallop Willcox by a tally of 68-41.

With the victory, Thatcher improves its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Safford (Safford, AZ) to play the Bulldogs in a 3A South challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 8-0. Safford won 92-26 in their recent league challenge against San Miguel (Tucson, AZ)

The Cowboys now own a 6-12 record. They play next when they travel to Seton Catholic for a non-league test on Saturday, January 6. Willcox will encounter a Sentinels squad coming off a 77-38 non-league win over Blue Ridge (Lakeside, AZ). The Sentinels record now stands at 11-4.
