Wisconsin High School Basketball - Mellen overwhelms Bayfield
January 5, 2024: Bayfield, WI 54814 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Mellen Granite Diggers (Mellen, WI) and the host Bayfield Trollers (Bayfield, WI), saw Mellen's basketball squad wallop Bayfield by a tally of 57-20.
With the victory, Mellen improves its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The Granite Diggers host Mercer (Mercer, WI) to confront the Tigers in a Northern Lights challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 2-6. Mercer won 60-27 in their recent league challenge against Lac Courte Oreilles (Hayward, WI)
Next up, the Trollers confront the Butternut Midgets (Butternut, WI) in a Northern Lights challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Bayfield will attempt to improve on its 0-7 season record. The Midgets come into the challenge with a 10-3 record after their 48-28 league win over Washburn (Washburn, WI).
