Alabama High School Basketball - Waterloo overwhelms Cherokee
January 5, 2024: Cherokee, AL 35616 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Waterloo Cougars (Waterloo, AL) and the host Cherokee Indians (Cherokee, AL), saw Waterloo's basketball squad wallop Cherokee by a tally of 54-18.
With the victory, Waterloo improves its record to 12-6 on the campaign. The Cougars host Shoals Christian (Florence, AL) to confront the Flame in a 1A Area 16 challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Flame come into the challenge with a record of 13-6. Shoals Christian lost 55-47 in their recent non-league challenge against Mars Hill Bible (Florence, AL)
Next up, the Indians confront the Covenant Christian Eagles (Tuscumbia, AL) in a 1A Area 16 challenge, on Monday, January 8. Cherokee will attempt to improve on its 1-9 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 3-12 record after their 36-19 league loss to Shoals Christian (Florence, AL).
