Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Prout Crusaders (Wakefield, RI) and the host East Greenwich Avengers (East Greenwich, RI), saw Prout's basketball squad hold off East Greenwich by a tally of 30-28.

With the victory, Prout improves its record to 3-5 on the campaign. The Crusaders travel to Mount St. Charles Academy (Woonsocket, RI) to confront the Mounties in a Division 2 challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Mounties come into the challenge with a record of 7-2. Mount St. Charles Academy won 43-41 in their recent league challenge against West Warwick (West Warwick, RI)

Next up, the Avengers confront the Shea Raiders (Pawtucket, RI) in a Division 2 challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. East Greenwich will attempt to improve on its 2-5 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 7-1 record after their 49-37 league win over Cumberland (Cumberland, RI).
