Mississippi High School Basketball - Humphreys Academy holds off Sharkey Issaquena Academy
January 6, 2022: Belzoni, MS 39038 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Humphreys Academy Rebels (Belzoni, MS) and the visiting Sharkey Issaquena Academy Confederates (Rolling Fork, MS), saw Humphreys Academy's basketball squad hold off Sharkey Issaquena Academy by a tally of 48-46.
With the victory, Humphreys Academy improves its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to Prentiss Christian (Prentiss, MS) to confront the Saints in a MAIS 2A District 2 challenge on Monday, January 10. The Saints come into the challenge with a record of 3-7. Prentiss Christian lost 45-41 in their recent non-league challenge against Wilkinson County Christian Academy (Woodville, MS)
Next up, the Confederates confront the Benton Academy Raiders (Benton, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 7. Sharkey Issaquena Academy will attempt to improve on its 3-8 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 70-23 non-league loss to Tri-County Academy (Flora, MS).
