Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Boerne-Champion Chargers (Boerne, TX) and the host Pieper Warriors (San Antonio, TX), saw Boerne-Champion's basketball squad hold off Pieper by a count of 54-47.

With the victory, Boerne-Champion upgrades its record to 21-1 on the campaign. The Chargers host Smithson Valley (Spring Branch, TX) to play the Rangers in a 5A Region IV District 26 challenge on Tuesday, January 10. The Rangers come into the challenge with a record of 3-14. Smithson Valley won 71-64 in their recent league challenge against Canyon (New Braunfels, TX)

Next up, the Warriors play the Tivy Antlers (Kerrville, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 26 challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Pieper will attempt to upgrade on its 17-5 season record. The Antlers come into the challenge with a 9-4 record after their 63-56 league loss to Wagner (San Antonio, TX).
