Briarwood Christian Lions (Birmingham, AL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad overcome the host Pelham Panthers (Pelham, AL), 66-57 in a league challenge.

With the victory, Briarwood Christian improves its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The Lions host Pelham (Pelham, AL) to play the Panthers in a 6A Area 8 challenge on Friday, January 20. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 11-6.

Next up, the Panthers play the Leeds Greenwave (Leeds, AL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Pelham will attempt to improve on its 11-6 season record. The Greenwave come into the challenge with a 2-8 record after their 55-47 non-league loss to Shades Valley (Birmingham, AL).
