Mount St. Joseph Gaels (Baltimore, MD) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host St. Frances Academy Panthers (Baltimore, MD), 62-59 in a league bout.

With the win, Mount St. Joseph upgrades its record to 14-2 on the season. The Gaels travel to Calvert Hall (Baltimore, MD) to clash with the Cardinals in a MIAA A - Black bout on Sunday, January 8. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 10-7. Calvert Hall won 55-48 in their recent league bout against Gilman (Baltimore, MD)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Boys Latin Lakers (Baltimore, MD) in a MIAA A - Black bout, on Wednesday, January 11. St. Frances Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 6-7 season record. The Lakers go into the bout with a 2-8 record after their 66-54 non-league loss to Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Baltimore, MD).
