Western Christian Pioneers (Salem, OR) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Blanchet Catholic Cavaliers (Salem, OR), 40-22 in a league bout.

With the victory, Western Christian upgrades its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Crosshill Christian (Turner, OR) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 6-8. Crosshill Christian lost 54-49 in their recent non-league bout against Southwest Christian (Beaverton, OR)
