Virginia High School Basketball - Indian River knocked off by Grassfield

January 6, 2023: Chesapeake, VA 23323

The Grassfield Grizzlies basketball team scored 56 points and held the visiting Indian River Braves to 40 in the Grizzlies league triumph on Friday.

The Grizzlies now sport a 7-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hickory for a Southeastern contest on Friday, January 13. Grassfield will meet a Hawks team coming off a 41-39 non-league loss to Norfolk Collegiate (Norfolk, VA). The Hawks record now stands at 2-8.

The Braves (7-4) will now prepare for their contest against Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, VA). The Tigers enter the Southeastern contest with a 5-5 record. In their last contest, Oscar Smith was defeated by Kempsville (Virginia Beach, VA), 68-26, in a non-league contest.
