Cedar Shoals Jaguars (Athens, GA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Elbert County Blue Devils (Elberton, GA), 70-59 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Cedar Shoals upgrades its record to 7-6 on the campaign. The Jaguars host Madison County (Danielsville, GA) to play the Red Raiders in a AAAA Region 8 bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Red Raiders come into the bout with a record of 13-4. Madison County won 73-70 in their recent league bout against East Hall (Gainesville, GA)

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Tallulah Falls Indians (Tallulah Falls, GA) in a A D1 Region 8 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Elbert County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-12 season record. The Indians come into the bout with a 4-11 record after their 60-48 non-league win over Lanier Christian Academy (Flowery Branch, GA).
