In Saturday's non-league match, the host Sierra Chieftains basketball team scored a tight 62-60 triumph over the Edison Tigers.

In their next game, the Chieftains meet the Sunnyside Wildcats (Fresno, CA) in a non-league match, on Wednesday, January 10. Sierra will attempt to move on its 9-7 season record.

With the defeat, Edison moves to 8-8 on the year. The Tigers host San Joaquin Memorial (Fresno, CA) to meet the Panthers in a County/Metro match on Tuesday, January 9.
