Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Washington edges Fort Cherry
January 6, 2024: Washington, PA 15301 The Washington Prexies (Washington, PA) basketball nipped the visiting Fort Cherry Rangers (McDonald, PA), 74-68 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Prexies (4-4) will now prepare for their test against Waynesburg Central (Waynesburg, PA). The Raiders go into the WPIAL 3A 4 test with a 2-6 record. In their last test, Waynesburg Central was tipped by Yough (Herminie, PA), 73-34, in a league test.
The Rangers now own a 5-3 record. They play next when they host Chartiers-Houston for a WPIAL 2A 4 test on Tuesday, January 9. Fort Cherry will encounter a Buccaneers squad coming off a 68-44 non-league loss to McGuffey (Claysville, PA). The Buccaneers record now stands at 8-4.
