January 6, 2024: Wheatland, IA 52777 The Calamus-Wheatland Warriors (Wheatland, IA) basketball knocked off the visiting Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes (Abingdon, IL), 65-57 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Warriors (11-2) will now prepare for their test against Central City (Central City, IA). The Wildcats go into the non-league test with a 5-7 record. In their last test, Central City notched a victory over Easton Valley (Preston, IA), 40-28, in a non-league test.
The Tornadoes now own a 14-5 record. They play next when they host ROWVA/Williamsfield for a Lincoln Trail test on Monday, January 8. Abingdon/Avon will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 44-40 league win over Stark County (Toulon, IL). The Cougars record now stands at 5-12.
