The East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA) basketball knocked off the visiting Franklin Parish Patriots (Winnsboro, LA), 53-37 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Spartans (14-3) will now prepare for their test against Central (Baton Rouge, LA). The Wildcats go into the non-league test with a 7-8 record.

The Patriots now own a 4-11 record. They play next when they travel to Neville for a 4A District 2 test on Tuesday, January 9.
