Texas High School Basketball - Harlingen South tops Rivera

Harlingen South Hawks (Harlingen, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Rivera Raiders (Brownsville, TX), 48-39 in a league bout.

With the victory, Harlingen South upgrades its record to 15-9 on the campaign. The Hawks host Weslaco (Weslaco, TX) to play the Panthers in a 6A Region IV District 32 bout on Tuesday, January 11. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 16-9. Weslaco won 59-45 in their recent league bout against Hanna (Brownsville, TX)

Next up, the Raiders play the San Benito Greyhounds (San Benito, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 32 bout, on Tuesday, January 11. Rivera will attempt to upgrade on its 9-9 season record. The Greyhounds come into the bout with a 9-11 record after their 72-43 league win over Donna North (Donna, TX).
