Georgia High School Basketball - Baker County topped by Quitman County
January 7, 2023: Newton, GA 39870 The Quitman County Hornets basketball team scored 50 points and restricted the host Baker County Bears to 42 in the Hornets non-league victory on Saturday.
The Hornets now sport a 4-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Miller County for a A D2 Region 1B contest on Tuesday, January 10. Quitman County will battle a Pirates team coming off a 59-57 non-league win over Abbeville Christian Academy (Abbeville, AL). The Pirates record now stands at 6-7.
The Bears (0-6) will now prepare for their bout against Westwood (Camilla, GA). The Wildcats go into the non-league bout with a 2-9 record. In their last bout, Westwood was knocked off by Echols County (Statenville, GA), 44-40, in a non-league bout.
