Georgia High School Basketball - Chestatee nips Franklin County
January 7, 2023: Carnesville, GA 30521 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Chestatee War Eagles (Gainesville, GA) and the host Franklin County Lions (Carnesville, GA), saw Chestatee's basketball squad hold off Franklin County by a tally of 70-68.
With the victory, Chestatee improves its record to 11-5 on the campaign. The War Eagles travel to Cherokee Bluff (Flowery Branch, GA) to play the Bears in a AAAA Region 8A challenge on Tuesday, January 10. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 11-5. Cherokee Bluff lost 71-53 in their recent league challenge against North Oconee (Bogart, GA)
Next up, the Lions play the Stephens County Indians (Toccoa, GA) in a AAA Region 8 challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Franklin County will attempt to improve on its 5-10 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 6-6 record after their 64-62 non-league loss to Madison County (Danielsville, GA).
