California High School Basketball - Lahainaluna holds off University Prep
January 7, 2023: Redding, CA 96001 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Lahainaluna Lunas (Lahaina, HI) and the host University Prep Panthers (Redding, CA), saw Lahainaluna's basketball squad hold off University Prep by a tally of 45-40.
With the victory, Lahainaluna improves its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Lunas host Kamehameha Maui (Pukalani, HI) to confront the Warriors in a Maui I challenge on Tuesday, January 10. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 10-6. Kamehameha Maui lost 62-49 in their recent league challenge against Baldwin (Wailuku, HI)
Next up, the Panthers confront the Yreka Miners (Yreka, CA) in a Northern challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. University Prep will attempt to improve on its 7-9 season record. The Miners come into the challenge with a 9-7 record after their 39-32 non-league win over Corning (Corning, CA).
