New Jersey High School Basketball - West Essex overwhelms Newark Academy
January 7, 2023: Livingston, NJ 07039 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the West Essex Knights (North Caldwell, NJ) and the host Newark Academy Minutemen (Livingston, NJ), saw West Essex's basketball squad wallop Newark Academy by a tally of 86-44.
With the victory, West Essex improves its record to 7-2 on the campaign. The Knights host Montclair (Montclair, NJ) to play the Mounties in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 10. The Mounties come into the challenge with a record of 5-1. Montclair won 69-47 in their recent non-league challenge against Glen Ridge (Glen Ridge, NJ)
Next up, the Minutemen play the Nutley Maroon Raiders (Nutley, NJ) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Newark Academy will attempt to improve on its 1-5 season record. The Maroon Raiders come into the challenge with a 1-8 record after their 63-50 non-league loss to Millburn (Millburn, NJ).
