Louisiana High School Basketball - Tupelo thwarts St. Augustine
January 7, 2023: New Orleans, LA 70119 The Tupelo Golden Wave (Tupelo, MS) basketball knocked off the host St. Augustine Purple Knights (New Orleans, LA), 62-50 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Golden Wave (10-5) will now prepare for their test against Oxford (Oxford, MS). The Chargers go into the 6A Region 1 test with a 11-6 record. In their last test, Oxford notched a victory over Grenada (Grenada, MS), 65-62, in a league test.
The Purple Knights now own a 8-10 record. They play next when they travel to John Curtis Christian for a 5A District 9 test on Tuesday, January 10. St. Augustine will encounter a Patriots squad coming off a 65-45 non-league loss to Olympia (Orlando, FL). The Patriots record now stands at 6-2.
