Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Avonworth winner over Hopewell
January 7, 2023: Aliquippa, PA 15001 In Saturday's non-league outing, the Avonworth Antelopes (Pittsburgh, PA) basketball squad felled the host Hopewell Vikings (Aliquippa, PA), by a margin of 40-30.
The Antelopes (6-4) will now prepare for their outing against Keystone Oaks (Pittsburgh, PA). The Golden Eagles go into the WPIAL 3A 2 outing with a 8-2 record. In their last outing, Keystone Oaks thwarted Seton LaSalle (Pittsburgh, PA), 46-42, in a non-league outing.
The Vikings now own a 4-5 record. They play next when they travel to Quaker Valley for a WPIAL 4A 2 outing on Monday, January 9. Hopewell will clash with a Quakers squad coming off a 47-41 league win over Beaver (Beaver, PA). The Quakers record now stands at 8-4.
