Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Weir can't hold off Burgettstown
January 7, 2023: Burgettstown, PA 15021 The Weir Red Riders basketball team (Weirton, WV), was nudged 57-55 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Burgettstown Blue Devils (Burgettstown, PA)
The Blue Devils now possess a 8-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fort Cherry for a WPIAL 2A 2 battle on Monday, January 9. Burgettstown will battle a Rangers team coming off a 68-40 non-league win over Avella (Avella, PA). The Rangers record now stands at 4-5.
The Red Riders (1-7) will now prepare for their battle against John Marshall (Glen Dale, WV). The Monarchs come into the non-league battle with a 10-4 record. In their last battle, John Marshall edged Linsly (Wheeling, WV), 47-33, in a non-league battle.
