Virginia High School Basketball - Byrd overwhelmed by Western Albemarle
January 7, 2023: Crozet, VA 22932 The Western Albemarle Warriors basketball team scored 49 points and restricted the visiting Byrd Terriers to 24 in the Warriors non-league victory on Saturday.
The Warriors now sport a 7-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Goochland for a Jefferson contest on Tuesday, January 10. Western Albemarle will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 65-22 league loss to Fluvanna County (Palmyra, VA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 0-7.
The Terriers (1-10) will now prepare for their contest against Staunton River (Moneta, VA). The Golden Eagles come into the Blue Ridge contest with a 1-12 record. In their last contest, Staunton River was routed by Franklin County (Rocky Mount, VA), 37-22, in a league contest.
