Mississippi High School Soccer - Wayne County knocks off Moss Point
January 7, 2023: Waynesboro, MS 39367 Wayne County War Eagles (Waynesboro, MS) fans were thrilled Saturday as they observed their soccer team prevail over the visiting Moss Point Tigers (Moss Point, MS), 4-0 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the War Eagles confront the Hattiesburg Tigers (Hattiesburg, MS) in a 5A Region 5 challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Wayne County will attempt to better on its 7-4 season record. The Tigers enter the challenge with a 2-10 record after their 7-0 non-league win over Perry Central (New Augusta, MS).
The Tigers now have a 0-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Stone for a 4A Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, January 10. Moss Point will confront a Tomcats team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Harrison Central (Gulfport, MS). The Tomcats record now stands at 10-8.
