Mississippi High School Basketball - Byhalia can't hold off North Pontotoc
January 7, 2025: Byhalia, MS 38611 North Pontotoc Vikings (Ecru, MS) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Byhalia Indians (Byhalia, MS), 71-67 in a league match.
With the victory, North Pontotoc advances its record to 6-12 on the year. The Vikings host Senatobia (Senatobia, MS) to face the Warriors in a 4A Region 2 match on Thursday, January 9. The Warriors enter the match with a record of 10-5. Senatobia lost 67-55 in their recent league match against New Albany (New Albany, MS)
The Indians now own a 3-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to South Pontotoc for a 4A Region 2 match on Friday, January 10. Byhalia will face a Cougars squad coming off a 51-45 non-league win over Ingomar (New Albany, MS). The Cougars record now stands at 12-7.
