California High School Basketball - Downey can't get by River Islands

The Downey Knights basketball squad (Modesto, CA), was nudged 46-43 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the host River Islands Riptide (Lathrop, CA)

With the victory, River Islands advances its record to 7-6 on the year. The Riptide host Linden (Linden, CA) to meet the Lions in a non-league battle on Wednesday, January 8. The Lions enter the battle with a record of 7-3. Linden won 61-41 in their recent non-league battle against Franklin (Stockton, CA)

The Knights now own a 2-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Stone Ridge Christian for a non-league battle on Thursday, January 9. Downey will meet a Knights squad coming off a 59-56 non-league win over East Lee County (Lehigh Acres, FL). The Knights record now stands at 4-9.
