Iowa High School Basketball - Wapsie Valley nips New Hampton
January 8, 2022: New Hampton, IA 50659 Wapsie Valley Warriors (Fairbank, IA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host New Hampton Chickasaws (New Hampton, IA), 51-50 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Wapsie Valley upgrades its record to 6-3 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Dike-New Hartford (Dike, IA) to play the Wolverines in a North Iowa Cedar - East bout on Tuesday, January 11. The Wolverines come into the bout with a record of 2-7. Dike-New Hartford lost 82-55 in their recent league bout against Aplington-Parkersburg (Parkersburg, IA)
Next up, the Chickasaws play the Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks (Waverly, IA) in a Northeast Iowa bout, on Thursday, January 13. New Hampton will attempt to upgrade on its 5-6 season record. The Go-Hawks come into the bout with a 9-4 record after their 53-41 non-league win over Benton (Van Horne, IA).
