New Mexico High School Basketball - Grants topped by Thoreau
January 8, 2022: Grants, NM 87020 The Thoreau Hawks basketball team scored 49 points and restricted the host Grants Pirates to 41 in the Hawks non-league victory on Saturday.
The Hawks now sport a 8-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Newcomb for a 3A District 1 contest on Wednesday, January 12. Thoreau will battle a Skyhawks team coming off a 57-30 non-league loss to Navajo Pine (Navajo, NM). The Skyhawks record now stands at 3-10.
The Pirates (5-11) will now prepare for their contest against Aztec (Aztec, NM). The Tigers come into the non-league contest with a 4-9 record.
