Comer Tigers (Sylacauga, AL) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Central of Coosa County Cougars (Rockford, AL), 75-74 in a league bout.

With the victory, Comer upgrades its record to 9-2 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Glencoe (Glencoe, AL) to play the Yellowjackets in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Yellowjackets come into the bout with a record of 9-5. Glencoe won 62-26 in their recent league bout against Ohatchee (Ohatchee, AL)

Next up, the Cougars play the Isabella Mustangs (Maplesville, AL) in a 2A Area 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Central of Coosa County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-7 season record. The Mustangs come into the bout with a 1-8 record after their 48-36 non-league win over Thorsby (Thorsby, AL).
