California High School Basketball - Maywood CES nips Marquez
January 8, 2024: Huntington Park, CA 90255 Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Maywood CES Wolfpack (Maywood, CA) and the host Marquez Gladiators (Huntington Park, CA), saw Maywood CES's basketball squad hold off Marquez by a tally of 45-43.
With the victory, Maywood CES improves its record to 6-1 on the campaign. The Wolfpack host Elizabeth (Cudahy, CA) to play the Bulldogs in a Southern challenge on Friday, January 12. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 1-4. Elizabeth lost 32-24 in their recent league challenge against Sotomayor (Los Angeles, CA)
Next up, the Gladiators play the Maywood Academy Nighthawks (Maywood, CA) in a Southern challenge, on Friday, January 12. Marquez will attempt to improve on its 6-3 season record. The Nighthawks come into the challenge with a 1-4 record after their 24-11 league loss to Torres (Los Angeles, CA).
