In Monday's league match, the visiting Amherst County Lancers basketball team scored a tight 59-58 triumph over the Liberty Christian Bulldogs.

In their next game, the Lancers face the Heritage Pioneers (Lynchburg, VA) in a Seminole match, on Thursday, January 12. Amherst County will attempt to move on its 10-2 season record. The Pioneers enter the match with a 4-5 record after their 57-49 non-league win over Mecklenburg County (Baskerville, VA).
