Iowa High School Basketball - Essex topped by Diagonal
January 9, 2023: Diagonal, IA 50845 The Diagonal Maroons basketball team scored 58 points and restricted the visiting Essex Trojans to 41 in the Maroons non-league victory on Monday.
The Maroons now sport a 4-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Twin Cedars for a Bluegrass contest on Tuesday, January 10. Diagonal will battle a Sabers team coming off a 41-36 non-league loss to Tri-County (Thornburg, IA). The Sabers record now stands at 3-5.
The Trojans (3-7) will now prepare for their contest against Fremont-Mills (Tabor, IA). The Knights come into the Corner contest with a 6-2 record. In their last contest, Fremont-Mills prevailed over Shenandoah (Shenandoah, IA), 82-41, in a non-league contest.
