California High School Basketball - Steele Canyon holds off Otay Ranch
January 9, 2023: Spring Valley, CA 91978 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Steele Canyon Cougars (Spring Valley, CA) and the visiting Otay Ranch Mustangs (Chula Vista, CA), saw Steele Canyon's basketball squad hold off Otay Ranch by a tally of 34-33.
With the victory, Steele Canyon improves its record to 11-6 on the campaign. The Cougars host Granite Hills (El Cajon, CA) to confront the Eagles in a challenge on Tuesday, January 10. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 2-4.
Next up, the Mustangs confront the Bonita Vista Barons (Chula Vista, CA) in a challenge, on Wednesday, January 18. Otay Ranch will attempt to improve on its 4-5 season record. The Barons come into the challenge with a 4-6 record after their 54-44 league loss to Mater Dei Catholic (Chula Vista, CA).
