Arizona High School Basketball - Desert Vista tops Valley Vista

January 9, 2024: Surprise, AZ 85374

Desert Vista Thunder (Phoenix, AZ) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Valley Vista Monsoon (Surprise, AZ), 67-54 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Desert Vista upgrades its record to 12-5 on the campaign. The Thunder host Corona del Sol (Tempe, AZ) to play the Aztecs in a 6A Central bout on Friday, January 12. The Aztecs come into the bout with a record of 9-6. Corona del Sol won 68-59 in their recent non-league bout against Rancho Solano Prep (Scottsdale, AZ)

Next up, the Monsoon play the Cesar Chavez Champions (Laveen, AZ) in a 6A West Valley bout, on Friday, January 12. Valley Vista will attempt to upgrade on its 4-10 season record. The Champions come into the bout with a 15-2 record after their 78-47 non-league win over Sunnyside (Tucson, AZ).
