Wisconsin High School Basketball - Mellen tops Mercer
January 9, 2024: Mellen, WI 54546 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Mellen Granite Diggers (Mellen, WI) and the visiting Mercer Tigers (Mercer, WI), saw Mellen's basketball squad knock off Mercer by a count of 49-33.
With the victory, Mellen upgrades its record to 6-5 on the campaign. The Granite Diggers host Winter (Winter, WI) to play the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 11. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 4-6. Winter won 63-52 in their recent league challenge against Flambeau (Tony, WI)
Next up, the Tigers play the Bayfield Trollers (Bayfield, WI) in a Northern Lights challenge, on Friday, January 12. Mercer will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record. The Trollers come into the challenge with a 0-8 record after their 62-23 league loss to Butternut (Butternut, WI).
