The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the J.H. Rose Rampants (Greenville, NC) and the host New Bern Bears (New Bern, NC), observed J.H. Rose's basketball team overwhelm New Bern by a score of 80-42.

The Rampants (11-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Northampton County (Gaston, NC). The Jaguars come into the non-league challenge with a 9-4 record. In their last challenge, Northampton County trounced North Edgecombe (Tarboro, NC), 75-64, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Bears encounter the West Craven Eagles (Vanceboro, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 14. New Bern will attempt to improve on its 6-6 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 3-6 record after their 87-67 league loss to Greene Central (Snow Hill, NC).
