The Lake Weir Hurricanes (Ocala, FL) basketball edged the host North Marion Colts (Citra, FL), 61-59 in Thursday's league bout.

The Hurricanes now possess a 8-5 record. They play next when they travel to Belleview for a non-league bout on Friday, January 10. Lake Weir will play a Rattlers team coming off a 54-50 non-league win over Citrus (Inverness, FL). The Rattlers record now stands at 6-8.

With the loss, North Marion falls to 11-4 on the campaign. The Colts travel to Columbia (Lake City, FL) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 11. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 10-6. Columbia won 59-56 in their recent non-league bout against Orange Park (Orange Park, FL)
