Iowa High School Basketball - English Valleys can't hold off Highland
January 9, 2025: Riverside, IA 52327 Highland Huskies (Riverside, IA) boosters left the game satisfied Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting English Valleys Bears (North English, IA), 38-37 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Highland upgrades its record to 8-5 on the year. The Huskies host Winfield-Mt. Union (Winfield, IA) to face the Wolves in a SEI - North match on Tuesday, January 21. The Wolves enter the match with a record of 2-12.
The Bears now sport a 7-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lynnville-Sully for a South Iowa Cedar match on Friday, January 10. English Valleys will face a Hawks squad coming off a 75-31 league win over Iowa Valley (Marengo, IA). The Hawks record now stands at 9-3.
