The Baird Bears basketball team scored 51 points and held the visiting Santa Anna Mountaineers to 48 in the Bears non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Bears now sport a 1-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cross Plains for a 1A Region II District 13 contest on Friday, January 13.

The Mountaineers (6-8) will now prepare for their contest against Paint Rock (Paint Rock, TX). The Indians enter the 1A Region II District 12 contest with a 1-6 record. In their last contest, Paint Rock was nudged by Robert Lee (Robert Lee, TX), 47-27, in a non-league contest.
