South Carolina High School Basketball - Wagener-Salley holds off Williston-Elko
January 10, 2023: Williston, SC 29853 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Wagener-Salley War Eagles (Wagener, SC) and the host Williston-Elko Blue Devils (Williston, SC), saw Wagener-Salley's basketball squad hold off Williston-Elko by a tally of 62-58.
With the victory, Wagener-Salley improves its record to 5-11 on the campaign. The War Eagles host Denmark-Olar (Denmark, SC) to confront the Vikings in a A Region 4 challenge on Friday, January 13. The Vikings come into the challenge with a record of 12-3. Denmark-Olar won 70-44 in their recent league challenge against Blackville-Hilda (Blackville, SC)
Next up, the Blue Devils confront the Fox Creek Predators (North Augusta, SC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 12. Williston-Elko will attempt to improve on its 4-8 season record. The Predators come into the challenge with a 9-9 record after their 58-54 league loss to Silver Bluff (Aiken, SC).
