Alabama High School Basketball - Cottonwood holds off Samson
January 10, 2023: Cottonwood, AL 36320 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Cottonwood Bears (Cottonwood, AL) and the visiting Samson Tigers (Samson, AL), saw Cottonwood's basketball squad hold off Samson by a tally of 69-66.
With the victory, Cottonwood improves its record to 8-5 on the campaign. The Bears host Abbeville (Abbeville, AL) to confront the Yellowjackets in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 12. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a record of 3-3. Abbeville won 56-37 in their recent non-league challenge against Bullock County (Union Springs, AL)
Next up, the Tigers confront the Cottonwood Bears (Cottonwood, AL) in a 2A Area 2 challenge, on Thursday, January 19. Samson will attempt to improve on its 5-3 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 10-5 record after their 46-14 league win over Wicksburg (Newton, AL).
